Governor of Maharashtra Shri C. Vidyasagara Rao was the chief guest of the function organized in CIDCO Exhibition Center, Vashi.

According to the organisers, 15,000 telugu people from the state attended the function. I also attended the function.

Report on Function by Shri Jaganbabu

The largest event of over 15000 Telugu people held in Navi Mumbai, Hon Governor Shri. Ch Vidyasagar Rao was the chief guest. Governor assured all support for Telugu people development and appealed all to work hard and stay united to develop strong society and strong Nation.
TELUGU VAARI SANKRANTI SAMBARALU (TVSS ) held by Maza MAHARASHTRA TELUGU MANCH ( MTM ) and all other Telugu NGO’s in Maharashtra state was held on Sunday, 11 Jan 2015 today at CIDCO EXHIBITION CENTRE, NAVI MUMBAI, over 15000 Telugu people participated from all over Maharashtra State in a full day long event from 9am to 6.30pm.
Hon'ble Governor Shri Vidyasagar Rao is Chief Guest, Shri P Pulla Rao AP State Minister was Guest of Honor, Shri Putta Madhu – MLA was Guest of Honor from Telangana . Shri Shirdhar MLA, His Holiness, Shri Paripoornananda Swamy, Shri Sagar Naik – Mayor of Navi Mumbai, Smt Manda Mhatre, MLA Belapur, Shri AV Gupta – Chairman Anand Nilayam & ARMIET, Shri Meka Paparao, Smt Meka Rajyalakshmi, Shri Ashok Cine Artist, Shri PMS Prasad – Reliance India Ltd, Shri V Satyanarayana Murthy General Manager ANDHRA BANK, Shri Ramesh babu, Shri AVR Chowdary G&C, and other dignitaries present.

Shri Jagannbabu Ganji, President of Maharashtra Telugu Manch along with Smt. Rajyalakshmi Paparao, Srinivas Sulge, Adv Dr. Sabban Ramdas, Subhash Macha, Bharat Gadewar welcomed the Guests.

Objective of the Event is Telugu Unity & Development by Networking and Entrepreneurship, says Jagan Babu Ganji, Presient of MTM.

The function was grand success with blessing of Hon Governors and Ministers from AP and other dignitaries present on the auspicious event on the eve of Sanktranti. Many local artists performed. Telugu Vaibhavam by students of Potti Sreeramulu Telugu University was attraction and Kuchipudi dance by Bhavana Reddy was grand attraction. Smt. Vimalakka and team joined with Telangana folk songs, Bathukamma songs, Telugu women participated with bathukamma. Shri Vandemaaram Srinivas also sang many super hit Telugu songs, audience enjoyed. Srinivas Sarma & his team from Hyderabad also performed. Orchestra by blind people of UDAAN group was highlight of the event. Life time achievements awards were given by Hon’ble Governor to Dr. J Bapu Reddy – Retd IAS & Poet, Shri B Seenaiah for Construction industry, Shri MNR Raju for Educational Projects. Excellency awards given to Shri Vandemataram Srinivas for Music, Ms Trisha Guduru - MISS SOUTH EAST ASIA 2014 from USA & to Shri Shanker Pawar for Business.
Shri. SVR Murthy and Shri. Srinivas Sarma anchored the TVSS Event.
Resolution / charter of Telugu people demands were handed over to Governor by Shri Sriniva Koduru Convenor, Ashok Kante – General Secretary expressed vote of thanks.
Shri Harikishan Eppanapally – Lead India Global head and Miss Trisha Guduru presented appointment order Honor to Shri Jaganbabu Ganji as Director of LEAD INDIA 2020 for MMRDA region.


Over 40 Stalls were set up by Telugu & other businessmen under MTM Entrepreneur program by GB Ramalingaiah and Gopal Gaikwad. Many Telugu self help group women put up stalls. People from Pune, Solapur, Shirdi, Nanded, Aurangabad, Nasik, Bhiwandi, Nagpur, Aurangabad, Latur, Kolhapur many places from Maharashtra joined the celebrations. Free traditional Telugu food is served to all delegates. Kanyakaparameshwari temple matung set up special temple stall and was main attraction for people. Balaji Temple Trust, Airoli, Telugu Sahitya Samithi from Chembur, Om PadmshaliSeva Sangham, Bombay Andhra Mahasabha & Gymkhana, Padmashali Sudharaka Sangham from worli, Mala Holey samaj from Matunga, PGSA, Telugu Youth Association, Solapur Sangham, Bhiwandi sanghams. Pune sanghams and many other NGOs joined the event in big way.



Notable Telugu persons among 15000 people are Shri K L Prasad, Navi Mumbai Police commissioner, Shri V V Lakshminarayana Jt Comm of Police, Thane,
Shri Chandrakant Gudewar – Solapur Municipal commissioner, D Murali, Dr. Girish Kumar, Shri NSS Rao, Shri Anand kumar, Shri Vemul Jayaprakash, Shri Eknath Sangham, Shri Pothu Rajaram, Shri Sanku Sudhakar, Shri Yapuram Venkatesh, Dr. Pamu Manohar, Shri Ramaswam Bhairy, Shri Hanumanth Rao, Shri Prabhath Murthy, MCK Reddy, Ambadas Kudkyal, Umesh Mamdyal, Vasant Yemul , Shri A K Laxminarayana, Shri Nageshwar Rao, Roshaiah Venkatayya, Dr. Bhalla, Uma Chityal, Sujata Macha and many others were present.

It was great day in the History of Telugu people in Maharashtra and this was truly an International event and state of the at CIDCO Exhibition center, full air conditioned place. All Men, women , youths enjoyed. TELUGU MOTHER and MARATHI AUNTY. ( TELUGU AAI – MARATHI MAVSHI , TELUGU THALLI – MARATHI PINNI ) was the theme of the Event. 300 years history of Telugu people in Maharashtra, PPT slide show was shown to all Delegates and Guests, this is based on Late Manohar Kadam’s book Mumbai cha Ubharneeth Telugu Samajache Yogdaan. Book Launch was also done with the books written by Shri Amballa Janardhan, Shri Macha Prabhakar. Rangoli competition as conducted and prizes were given to winners. Lucky draw prizes – gold coins was sponsored Joyalukkas Jewellers.

Bhogi Panduga - Telugu - భోగి పండుగ

మనిషి అవసారానికి  పనికొస్తాయంటూ దాఛి  ఉంచిన వస్తువులు ఇంట్లో గదుల్ని ఇరుకుచేస్తుండటంతో పంటలు బాగా పండి క్రొత్త వస్తువులు కొనగలము అనే ధైర్యము కలగడం వాళ్ళ  వాటిని మంటల్లో వేసి చలి తగ్గించుకొని భోగించడంతో భోగి పండగ ప్రారంభం అవుతున్ది. భోగి అంటేనే భోగమయమైన పండగ అని ఈ సమయానికి  రైతు చేతికి పంటలన్నీ వచ్చి ధాన్యపు రాశులతో గాదెలన్నీ నిండి, క్రొత్త వస్తువులు కొనుక్కుని, సౌభాగ్యాలతో విరిసిల్లుతూ,  ఏడాది కాలంగా వాడిన  అనవసర సామాగ్రిని మంటల్లో బూడిద చేసే క్రమంలో ఏర్పడిన పండగే భోగి. ధాన్య లక్ష్మి  తన ఇంటికి వచ్చినందుకు ఏర్పాటు చేసుకున్న పండగగా భోగిని చెప్తారు. పల్లెటూళ్ళలో
అగ్నిదేవుడికి ఆహుతి చేసి , సంతోషాలను ప్రసాదించాలని కోరుకునే పండగ అని కొందరు అన్వయించ వచ్చు.



 దక్షిణాయనంలో సూర్యుడు రోజు రోజుకి భూమికి దక్షిణం వైపుగా కొద్ది కొద్దిగా దూరమవుతూ దక్షిణ అర్ధగోళంలో భూమికి దూరం అవుట వలన భూమిపై బాగా చలి పెరుగుతుంది. ఈ చలి వాతావరణాన్ని తట్టుకునేందుకు ప్రజలు సెగ కోసం చలి మంటలు వేసుకునేవారు, ఉత్తరాయణం ముందురోజుకి చలి విపరీతంగా పెరగడం ఈ చలిని తట్టుకునేందుకు ప్రత్యేకమైన  భగ భగ మండే మంటలు అందరు వేయటం వలన ఈ రోజుకు భోగి అనే పేరు వచ్చింది అని కొందరి వ్యాఖ్యానం.
